SAYED IQBAL HAIDER
Sayed Iqbal Haider a former Senator, Federal Minister of law and Former Attorney General of Pakistan, has played an active role in the pursuit of human rights causes in Pakistan and work for victims of honour killings and bonded labour.
Interestingly, in 1991 Iqbal Haider hosted a reception for beloved Mother Teresa amidst an inspiring interaction.
Advocate Iqbal Haider was instrumental in the release and repatriation of over 400 desolate Indian fishermen lately in the month of August/September 2010 who had inadvertently crossed over into Pakistan territorial waters. Haider’s altruistic and benevolent act in an atmosphere of hostility, animosity and suspicion is a positive boost for relations between India and Pakistan, two neighbours in South Asia whose ties have been testy through more than 6 decades.
