YP SINGH

YP SINGH

Shri YP Singh, enamoured by the call of public service joined the IPS in 1985. Duty bound to serve the Constitution of India – his ultimate authority – he grew restless with that which his eyes beheld and began an earnest and aggressive campaign against corruption in the upper echelons of public service, especially in the police and income tax departments, to expose senior bureaucrats and prominent businessmen in their illegal persuasions.

During his time of service in the police, Shri YP Singh proved to be not the typical archetypal person in the uniform responding to orders and commands in a robotic manner; on the contrary he perceived his responsibility differently and blazed a different trail with integrity and conscience, assuming the Herculean task of cleaning up the “Augean Stables” to ensure that high level corruption among the senior bureaucrats was exposed through the entrenchment of the culture of transparency and accountability.

After resigning the police service, which he served diligently for nearly 20 years, he continues to spread awareness through open forums to sensitize the wider public against the dangers of white collar crime and corruption in high places.
