Lovingly known as the Mother of Orphans, Sindhutai Sapkal is an Indian social worker and social activist renowned particularly for her work for raising orphan children.

DIEP SAEEDA

Born on 15 August 1962 Diep Saeeda is a Lahore based activist who has been working consistently on issues of human rights, women’s rights and democracy, and has been ferociously fighting against patriarchy, feudalism and communalism in an atmosphere of religious bigotry and everyday violence.

DR.HANUMAPPA SUDARSHAN

Dr. Sudarshan pays particular attention to the problems of the tribals such as cases of snake bite, mauling by bears, Pneumonia, Tuberculosis and Acute Respiratory Infections.

ARUNACHALAM MURUNGANATHAM

Arunachalam Murunganatham is a social entrepreneur who has helped rural women all over the country by coming up with an idea that ensures that feminine hygiene products are made affordable by curtailing production cost of these products.

SUSHMITA SEN

The former Miss Universe who answers questions with ease, is part of social outreach campaigns, and is someone who is not afraid to stand up for causes she believes in, Sushmita Sen embodies the New Woman.

MAULANA MAHMOOD MADANI

Maulana Madani is at the forefront of education among the Muslim community and is a known advocate of women’s education, knowing fully well what education can do to help change the fortunes of the entire country.
